  • What is your policy on confidentiality?

    All information given to PCC is held in strict confidence. In order to conduct office business such as filing, statistical compilation, consultation and peer review, records will be accessed by office staff, only when necessary.

    We are required by law to keep a record of our interactions with you. Only staff of PCC have access to client records. This information cannot be shared with anyone outside of our program unless the client authorizes such a release of information through written consent or as is required by law.

    The calendar program used through Jane is HIPAA compliant (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). More details can be found here.

    If you see our staff or counsellors outside the office, our policy is to wait for you to acknowledge us and initiate contact. Conversations and content regarding your presence in the office, is not discussed outside of the office.

  • What are your rates for a session?

    Rate:

    $105.00 – 50 minute sessions

    The initial appointment allows you to meet the counsellor and evaluate the suitability of our services. At this time the counsellor will assess your needs and discuss what can be expected from counselling.

    Payment is accepted at the beginning of each session by Cash, Cheque, Debit, E-transfer, MasterCard or Visa. Payment plans and reduced payments are available. Information to follow.

  • Does my insurance coverage pay for appointments?

    Many employers will have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which allows for coverage of sessions for employees and their families. Check with your Human Resource department, refer to your benefits package for psychotherapist / counsellor coverage, or call our office to find out which provider applies to you.

  • What happens if I am unable to pay the full amount?

    No one will be turned away because they are unable to pay. The cost of counselling will be based on your income and/or family circumstances.

    Some businesses, churches, or third party insurers will cover the cost of counselling. Please check with your Human Resources Manager, employer or Pastor. Our staff are also able to help answer your questions.

  • How long is a session?

    Each session is 50 minutes long. If this is your first session, plan on coming 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork. We know your time is valuable and would like to respect it. With all appointments please arrive 5-10 minutes early so as to be able to start promptly. Sessions will end at the scheduled time slot even if you arrive late.

  • What are regular office hours?

    Our office in Morden is open 9:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday, except on holidays. The Winkler office is open Monday through Thursday. Altona is open Wednesday and alternating Thursdays. Evening hours are available on Tues & Thurs in Morden dependent on the counsellors hours.

  • Can I pay for someone to attend counselling?

    If you would like to pay for sessions for someone else, we can certainly make arrangements by either credit card or invoicing. Please call the office to make arrangements.

  • I’m not sure who to see. How do I choose a counsellor?

    Please refer to our Counsellors page to read the biographies of each person available. Our office staff are also able to help answer who would be a good fit for you.

  • Where are you located?

    We have offices in Morden, Winkler and Altona. Please refer here.

  • What happens if I’m unable to make it to my appointment?

    We ask that you give 24 hours notice for your cancellation or a $25 late cancellation fee will apply. Monday appointments and those following a holiday, must be rescheduled or cancelled online or before Friday at 4:30pm.

  • What if I move or am unable to come into the office? Can I still continue with my session?

    Our counsellors continue to provide password protected video sessions and phone sessions. Make sure to find a safe space to speak freely wherever you are, for your privacy.

  • What if I need documentation for court, mandated or referral agencies?

    Documents are provided which is the same rate of your counselling session.
