Brent Thiessen
M.A. Counselling, CPC
Brent Thiessen grew up in the Pembina Valley and is grateful for the opportunity to serve his home community through his work at Pembina Counselling Centre, where he has been counselling since 2020. His early experiences living and working at Winkler Bible Camp sparked a passion for building into the lives of others—eventually leading him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Alberta, followed by a Master of Arts in Counselling from Providence Theological Seminary.
Brent takes a holistic approach to counselling, considering the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of each person. He believes everyone deserves care and support, and works to create a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences, develop insight, and gain practical tools for personal growth.
Brent’s clinical and educational experience includes work with grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, chronic pain, life transitions, spiritual well-being, human development, attachment, parenting, and relationships. His goal is to walk with clients through difficult seasons—helping them heal, grow, and gain confidence in navigating life’s challenges within their own communities of support.
