Lucienne Sawatzky is thrilled to be working in her hometown with Pembina Counselling Centre, serving Southern Manitobans after completing her education at Steinbach Bible College (Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies) and Providence Theological Seminary (Master of Arts in Counselling). She also holds her EMI Level 1 certification, enhancing her ability to offer trauma-informed and compassionate care.

Lucienne’s experiences at Pembina Valley Bible Camp, global mission work, and supporting adults with disabilities have deeply shaped her heart for people from diverse walks of life.

Her approach to counselling is holistic, integrating mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of well-being. She seeks to build safe, collaborative relationships with clients, helping them explore their identity, navigate life’s challenges, and take meaningful steps toward growth. As a Christian, Lucienne believes every person bears God’s image — each one holding inherent worth, purpose, and the capacity for healing and connection. No matter a client’s background or beliefs, she aims to respect, empower, and walk alongside them with empathy and hope.

Lucienne has developed a wide range of clinical experience through two previous simultaneous placements and diverse client work. She has supported individuals navigating depression, anxiety, anger, relational challenges, spiritual struggles, eating disorders, pornography addiction, grief, suicidal ideation, trauma, various forms of abuse and/or neglect (physical, sexual, financial, verbal, and spiritual), low self-esteem, chronic health issues, disabilities, phobias, self-injury, difficult life transitions, and cultural concerns.
